Airport Operations
Airport inspections with drones, also known as unmanned aircraft systems (UAVs), are becoming increasingly common as a way to inspect or map portions of a airport infrastructure and facilities in real time. Drones equipped with cameras and other sensing equipment can perform detailed inspections of runways, taxiways, buildings, and other airport structures. This can save time and money compared to traditional inspection methods, as well as provide a safer working environment for inspectors by reducing the need for them to work at heights or in other hazardous areas.
Our equipment and output comply with Federal Aviation Administration's Advisory Circular 150/5300-17C .
With data collected, we can merge images to create a map of the designated area that can be loaded on google earth Pro or on Airport GIS software's such as ArcGIS Pro. This data can be archived in your records for later review or auditing.
Other great use for imagery may include:
Planning for events and airfield changes
Capturing imagery for construction and deconstruction of structures or surfaces.
Marketing of airport events.
Hawkinson Aerial Photography, LLC takes time to obtain waivers needed by the Federal Aviation Administration to fly at larger airports such as those in Class D, Class C, and Class B airspace. If your airport would would like to work with us to complete airport projects, or if your airport would like to integrate drones, our team can work to get you waivers and the tools you need to complete your projects.
